The foundation was created based on the need to help children at social risk in Jacó, Costa Rica. The accelerated growth of this tourist area has generated urban gaps invaded by drug addiction, prostitution and crime.
Thus, the foundation has taken the problem seriously and has decided to tackle it. Through sports, its founder, Leonidas Ruaro, via Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, discipline and education has taught the sport as a tool for boys to fight their environment.
Our work as a foundation has met the needs of children to move ahead in life. Within Pura Vida Fighting For Kids Program, we provide pedagogical support, sports uniforms, food, and psychological support.
